Installation Note 46648: "NOT_FOUND_ERR: An attempt is made to reference a node in a context where it does not exist" occurs when you install SAS® 9.2 M3 maintenance release

When you apply the SAS 9.2 M3 maintenance release, you might receive an installation failure from Base SAS®. If you look in the MIT.log file located in the C:\Program Files\SAS\InstallMisc\InstallLogs\9.2 directory, you might see the following:

The issue is caused by a missing rollback element in the uninstall.xml file.

Solution

To solve the problem, do the following:

  1. Close the SAS® Deployment Wizard.
  2. Browse to SASHOME\InstallMisc (for example: C:\Program Files\SAS\InstallMisc\).
  3. Rename uninstall.xml to uninstall.xml.old.
  4. Rerun the SAS Deployment Wizard.

This issue is fixed in SAS® 9.3.
